Making Adorned Prints Part III: The King of a Thousand Fragrances

I return with Part III of my series on making adorned prints inspired by 18th century techniques and the legends of planet Thror. In this multi-part video series I’m taking you step-by-step through the process of creating an adorned print of King Loreval of ancient Thror. These prints are being created in Egypt right now as rewards for the ongoing Kickstarter campaign for my upcoming graphic novel Napoleon’s Starship.

We have spoken of fabrics and textures, but today’s post is about the sense most valued by the Throrians themselves – smell. Today, our print of king Loreval receives its most precious adornment, a tiny scent vial.

If you missed Parts I and II, which explain the concept of adorned prints and chronicle the first stages of cresting one, you can catch up here –

Part I: How to Make an Ancient Alien King
Part II: Fabric Blocking for an Adorned Print

Watch Part III below to see how the Throrian cult of scent joins with my adorned printmaking technique to create a one-of-a-kind piece and bring you your own fragrant piece of Throrian magic!

If you find my choice of illustration puzzling and mysterious, watch the video below to find the answer.

Find out what scent is destined for you by claiming one of the 4 remaining Adorned Prints in our live Kickstarter Campaign for Napoleon’s Starship. We’re 66% funded with exactly two weeks left to go.

Join us on the barricades to protect the ancient treasures of Thror and send Napoleon back to Paris empty-handed! Choose your favorite reward, show your support with a $1 pledge, or simply share our link with every human, alien, or carnivorous tree you meet:
